September 30, 2026: Senate Votes Overview

One day’s coverage: selected Senate actions on September 30, 2026, including two attempts to take up bills and three bills the Senate passed.

Congress explained, with sources you can check.

From Political Oversight.

What happened?

  1. Two attempts to take up bills

On September 30, cloture on the motion to proceed was rejected for H.R. 7008, 53–47, and H.R. 9340, 57–43. Both votes had a stated three-fifths requirement. These were procedural steps toward taking up the bills, not final-passage defeats.
